Past Adoption Events:

• View the Public Review Drafts & Comments received – Review submitted online comments on the draft Downtown Plan.
• City Council Comp Plan Info Meeting – Tuesday, February 7 @ 3 p.m.
• Planning Commission Comp Plan Info Meeting – Tuesday, February 14 @ 6 p.m.
• Neighborhood Commission Comp Plan Info Meeting – Tuesday, February 15 @ 6 p.m.
• Planning Commission Comp Plan Public Hearing – Tuesday, February 28 @ 6 p.m. (The Planning Commission postponed action on the Plan to the April 11th Meeting)
• Planning Commission Comp Plan Consideration – Tuesday, April 11 @ 6 p.m. (The Planning Commission postponed action on the Plan to the May 9th Meeting)
• The Commission directed staff to prepare an Alternative Draft Comprehensive Plan, known as Vision SMTX+, using the redlines provided by the subcommittee consisting of Chair Garber, Commissioners Meeks, Commissioner Agnew, Commissioner Case, and Mayor Hughson.
• Planning Commission Comp Plan Consideration – Tuesday, May 9 @ 6 p.m. (The Planning Commission postponed action on the Plan to the August 22 Meeting)
• Planning Commission Comp Plan Workshop – Wednesday, June 21 @ 5 p.m., San Marcos Library Room A, 625 E Hopkins Street.
  
• Planning Commission Comp Plan Consideration – Tuesday, August 22 @ 6 p.m. (The Commission recommended approval of Vision SMTX+ with amendments)

• City Council Comp Plan Public Hearing #1 (No Action) – Tuesday, September 19, 2023 @ 6 p.m.
• City Council Comp Plan Public Hearing (1st Reading) – Tuesday, October 17, 2023 @ 6 p.m. (The Council recommended approval of Vision SMTX+ with amendments)

• City Council Comp Plan (2nd Reading & Final Consideration) – Monday, November 6, 2023 @ 6 p.m. (The Council postponed action on the plan to the January 16, 2024 Meeting & created a Council Committee consisting of Mayor Hughson and Councilmembers Garza and Scott.)
• City Council Committee Meeting #1 – November 17, 2023 (The committee directed staff to gather additional community input and develop an outreach campaign)
• City Council Committee Meeting #2 – December 11, 2023 (The committee approved the outreach campaign & provided direction on a new public hearing and adoption date)
• City Council Comp Plan Discussion – January 16, 2024 (The Council approved the outreach campaign and survey & provided direction on a new public hearing and adoption date)
